THE PROJECT

This childcare center, constructed for the Nanoose First Nation, consists of a 7600sf building and outdoor play area. The project commenced in the spring of 2022 and was completed June 2023. The scope included building design, civil site preparation, concrete foundations, wood-framed structure, interior finishes, and landscaping.

Building Futures, Nurturing Communities

The proposed plot of land was heavily forested, so we deployed our own forces to clear the area and prepare the grade for civil installations. One of the main challenges with this project was tight budget constraints which were addressed via initial project value engineering.

Cultivating Learning Spaces

EC Group worked with the owner and consultant team to identify and address multiple areas for cost savings. Some of these items were ultimately incorporated into the project with ongoing efforts to keep the budget manageable for the owner group.
