The EC Group was contracted by Cowichan Tribes as Construction Manager utilizing CCDC-5B to address a housing crisis with a tight schedule. Ultimately, we proceeded with unique panabode style structures. Typically suited for recreational use, these units were upgraded with insulation, electrical and plumbing to meet all local codes.
Part of the project also required minimal site presence, so the units were constructed by EC forces and trades off-site and delivery coordinated after most of the construction was complete. EC was able to manage this project amidst the COVID-19 Pandemic. We implemented necessary protocols to ensure the safety of staff and community in the vicinity of this project.
The EC Group performed all site prep and underground servicing as well as delivery of the units with minimal impact on the surrounding residents. The units blend in naturally with the existing property and were able to be placed with minimal impact to the existing landscape and trees.
